Lemons contain more sugar than strawberries

We can say that the strawberries and lemons are the world’s healthiest foods.

Both these fruits contain low amount of sugar that is helpful, as our body needs a certain amount of sugar. A lemon contains 70% sugar and strawberry contain only 40% of sugar.

But they have so much citric acid that we don’t notice how sweet they are. This huge amount of sugar in lemons can cause obesity if you eat them too often, but it’s unlikely that you will because of the acid.


Canned fish is healthier than canned meat

Although canned food is not so much on the healthy list. This is mostly true for canned meat but not quite the same for canned fish.

Fish, such as sardines and canned salmon, is a great source of calcium because it allows you to eat tiny bones that are too soft to notice but provide you with a great amount of calcium.


Although most of us eat about 3 bottles of ketchup a year, did you know that by eating just 4 tablespoons of ketchup you will receive the same nutritional value of an entire medium sized tomato.

Frozen fruit can be healthier than fresh

Fresh fruits and vegetables are some of the healthiest foods you can eat.

Fruit, veggies intended to be frozen are typically picked at their peak ripeness, where they are most nutrient dense, as compared to produce intended to be sold fresh, which are picked at a less mature, less nutrient-dense stage in order to last longer during transport and storage.

Frozen fruit and vegetables are also convenient and cost-effective alternative to fresh options.

Farm-grown salmon is white

Wild salmon has its natural pinkish color because it consumes a lot of shrimp in the sea.

When salmon is grown on a farm, it eats completely different food and that’s why it looks white or just a little bit pink.

To make the color brighter, manufacturers use different color pigments.

Egg yolk contains more nutrients and minerals that egg whites

Egg yolk contains all the useful vitamins and minerals necessary for a balanced diet.

Of course, egg whites are much better for a diet, but if you need a lot of nutrients, the yolk is your choice.

Leftovers may taste better the next day

Many people have noticed that some foods seem tastier the next day after they were cooked.

You may also notice that your leftovers start to brown in the microwave. The browning effect happens when the amino acids react with sugar to produce new flavour molecules.

Stickers on fruit are edible

Just in case you eat a sticker without noticing, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) recommends washing fruits and vegetables before consumption and it doesn’t prohibit eating the stickers on them.

Although the most logical thing to do is to take them off, but they are actually made of edible paper and even the glue is food grade.

However, if you can, you should take them off before eating.
